About Us
We love triathlon. From setting our sights on a big goal, to pushing ourselves in training (even when we don't feel like it), to meeting friends to train with, to crossing that finish line. We're here for it all.
But we don't see enough women at start lines. We want to see equal numbers of men and women experiencing the joy and highs of training and competing in triathlons.
Our Story
Bianca recounts how Fund her Tri UK started:
This story started at the Ironman World Championships, in Kona, Hawaii.
Lynn Mattix founded Fund Her Tri in 2019. Since inception, FHT has been sponsoring female athletes in the United States looking to do their first triathlon.
In October 2022, I was in Kona racing the Ironman World Championships. I watched Lynn being interviewed about Fund Her Tri and immediately knew that we needed to partner to make it international.
One meeting with Lynn in between all the mayhem and craziness of that week and Fund Her Tri UK story began.
Back home in the UK, I put feelers out for collaborators. I was immediately joined in this adventure by other incredible women who feel as passionate about equality as me: Werdah, Charlotte, Lottie and Lucy came on board FHT UK and between all of us we are bringing this project from an idea, to reality.
It hasn't stopped there. The triathlon community has also showered us in support. We are incredibly grateful to all the coaches, mentors, friends and family who have joined us and offered their support in more ways than one.
